The Women I Became
The Women I Became is part of the Women in Color series, a body of work exploring feminine identity through color, texture, and presence. The work reflects the idea that a woman is never made of one single self, but of many versions — shaped by memory, experience, vulnerability, and strength.
The figure appears composed and self-aware, her direct gaze carrying both softness and authority. Her face, divided into vivid fields of color, becomes a visual map of transformation, while the richly textured background and embellished garment create a dialogue between fragility and power.
Through acrylic, mixed media, and layered surface, The Women I Became portrays womanhood as an ongoing process of becoming — a celebration of resilience, self-knowledge, and the many selves a woman carries within her.
